  1. My developer is trying to persuade me to move to .net from PHP. I have always disliked the idea because of the expenses. But he’s tryiong none the less. I’ve been using WordPress on several websites for about a year and am anxious about switching to another platform. I have heard good things about blogengine.net. Is there a way I can transfer all my wordpress posts into it? Any help would be really appreciated!

    1. oh , get away from .net , lots of good things like WordPress for example are based on php.

Its common for web companies to offer no or little support, so that is a big factor.

If your developer is helping you I would stick with that, and maybee look at a new template. I would stick with WordPress and a good provider that offers support, so that you can be in touch with things.

There are so many modules available today for wordpress that your going to get what you need.

Even for a basic blog.. because it will be transportable between web-host providers.

  2. Heya this is kinda of off topic but I was wanting to know if blogs use WYSIWYG editors or if you have to manually code with HTML. I’m starting a blog soon but have no coding expertise so I wanted to get advice from someone with experience. Any help would be enormously appreciated!

    1. Hard to tell if these are real comments, but yes something like WIX is good for WYSWYG, you can explore the limitations of those pre-packaged editing solutions. Older products like adobe dreamweaver or MS frontpage used to do that. But now usually you will find that the hosting provider provides a basic template. in many cases that now means just setting up a WordPress. WordPress is like a CMS (content management system) light, because, once its running it will allow you to customize it with templates, modules, and content without having to code. I don’t recommend you learn to code, unless you want to as a hobby, but I don’t get the results I do by coding, I’m using a word press here. If I really want advanced functionality I will code a WordPress module myself and that requires quite a bit of expertise to learn if you are starting from ground zero or as a novice computer user. Its fun to learn HTML and CSS and you can do that, but I recommend using a WordPress with a custom template. Hiring a developer to help you install and and customize the WordPress could be beneficial. Having 2 or 3 hours of support every month would go along way wouldn’t it ?

  3. Does your blog have a contact page? I’m having trouble locating it but, I’d like to shoot you an email.
I’ve got some creative ideas for your blog you might be interested in hearing.
Either way, great site and I look forward to seeing it expand over time.

  4. Good day! I know this is somewhat off topic but I was wondering if you knew where I could find a captcha plugin for my comment form? I’m using the same blog platform as yours and I’m having problems finding one? Thanks a lot!
